Whisky Trail Bars

For many years, The Lochside has been THE whisky bar on the world's whisky island, Islay.

The bar, together with the hotel's ten bedrooms, has been recently refurbished, bringing even greater levels of comfort to its clientele. The Conservatory Dining Room has magnificent views over Bowmore Harbour and Loch Indaal to Bruichladdich distillery. The bar has long held the record for the bar with the world's largest selection of Islay malts and is a haven for lovers of Islay's whiskies.

Now run by an Ileach (a resident of Islay), the craic in the bar is often local, so you may find that you are sharing stories with a scallop diver, the mashman from Bowmore distillery or a tourist from Yokohama. The town's distillery-heated swimming pool is a mere 50 metres' walk from the hotel's front door, so there is no excuse for missing out on your regular fitness regime.
